The Leica M822 ophthalmic surgical microscope combines apochromatic OptiChrome optics, LED main illumination and OttoFlex coaxial illumination for detailed visualisation and a stable red reflex.
Description
The Leica M822 is an ophthalmic surgical microscope developed to provide high-quality visualisation across a wide range of eye procedures.
Apochromatically corrected OptiChrome optics provide high contrast, brilliant colours, crisp definition and excellent resolution. The motorised 6:1 APO-Zoom magnification system includes two separate beam paths and provides a total magnification range of 3.5× to 21×.
The dual illumination system combines uniform LED main illumination with OttoFlex coaxial illumination. Two precision-formed halogen bulbs generate a clear, stable red reflex while reducing stray light through the sclera and increasing image contrast.
The Retina Protection Function reduces the intensity of the main and OttoFlex illumination when required. A built-in UV filter provides additional protection during ophthalmic procedures.
The microscope provides motorised focus and XY movement with automatic reset. Surgeons can save personalised configurations using the programmable touchscreen control unit, which accommodates settings for up to 30 users.
The M822 is available with the F20 floor stand, F40 floor stand or CT40 telescope ceiling mount, allowing the system to be configured according to the operating room’s space and workflow requirements.
